Christopher Hyatt was previously Executive Chef at Republic Garden & Lounge in Charleston, SC. Since taking over as head chef, he has made the menu his own by introducing a contemporary new take on southern cuisine.

Prior to working at Republic, Christopher developed reputation throughout Charleston and Kiawah Island as a highly requested private chef for his inspired menus and beautiful presentations. Growing up in Charleston with a master chef grandfather, Christopher began learning to cook at an early age. He studied at the culinary arts school, Johnson & Wales University and has won numerous cooking competitions.

When Christopher is not standing over a stove, he can be found browsing through shelves at various thrift stores in search of rare cookbooks and vintage china. His favorite part of being a chef is discovering a forgotten recipe and being able to reinterpret it for a broader audience.
