Marguerite Archie-Hudson

Legislative Affairs

Marguerite Archie-Hudson, Ph. D. has had a distinguished professional career in legislative affairs, higher education and public policy. She is a former member of the California State Legislature where she represented Los Angeles. Among her signature legislative accomplishments is the creation of the California Science Center, now one of the largest science centers in the nation and home to the retired NASA space shuttle, The Endeavor. She is a cofounder of Jenesse Center, a multifaceted Los Angeles based domestic violence program recently recognized by the White House and the U.S. Department of Justice for its path breaking work.

Archie-Hudson is a former President of Talladega College (Ala) and recently retired as Associate Professor of Political Science and Public Policy at the College of Charleston. She holds degrees from Talladega College, Harvard University and The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She holds membership in a number of organizations including The Links, Incorporated; Delta Sigma Theta, Incorporated and the California Science Center Foundation Board of Directors.Her most recent “adventure” is as a writer, having published a well-acclaimed novel “Try To Catch The Water” and currently working on her second book.
